JONTEJA VENNING
Housing Services Coordinator
(AmeriCorps Vista)

Jonteja is a recent graduate of Tulane University where she obtained her Masters in Public Health- studying communications, health education, health equity, and social innovation in public health. She believes that while   a variety of social determinants of health, disproportionately impact vulnerable populations, housing intervention is most important to stop the cycle of poverty that disproportionately impacts communities of color and   bring about true reform. Her pastimes include watching documentaries and studying real estate. She is a proud Charlestonian who has fallen in love with the culture and community in New Orleans and looks forward to contributing to affordable housing development in the city. Jonteja holds a BS in Biology and Business Administration from Winthrop University where she was able to explore the intersection between health and housing. She also has professional and volunteer experience working with children, persons with disabilities, and older adults. Jonteja is eager to continue learning and growing with People’s Housing + and is excited to do so with an organization that shares her passion and dedication to addressing today’s affordable housing crisis.
