Dean Durand is a proud New Orleans native. After graduating from Howard University in 2005 with a bachelors in Business Administration, Dean returned home in 2006 to assist in the rehabilitation of the city after the devastating effects of Hurricane Katrina. Dean has been involved in several facets of the rebuilding process and has worked with the Army Corps of Engineers on operations including debris removal, residential demolitions, and  levee repairs. From there Dean spent a couple years overseas as a Quality Assurance and Field Safety Professional in support of the U.S. Military and Department of Defense in both Iraq and Afghanistan. After returning home again, Dean decided  to continue supporting the rebuilding efforts of our community by working as a general contractor through his company Pontchartrain Property Preservation LLC. Dean joined our team as the Construction Project Manager in April 2023. He is extremely passionate about our mission to provide affordable housing to residents and also providing the education and opportunities to local New Orleanians to begin their journey to generational wealth through homeownership.
